21st All-stars Tournament held at Longfield School.
The tournament consisted of two leagues of 6 teams in each league. Spraire Lads A performed very well in the league format winning 3 games drawing 1 and losing 1. These results enabled Spraire Lads A to proceed into the Quarter Finals where they faced a 21st All-stars team. Spraire Lads won this game convincing 4-0 proceeding into the Semi Final against another strong 21st All-stars Team which had yet to be beaten. Spraire Lads performed magnificently winning 2-0 and now moving into the Final against Consett Tigers.
The final was between two tired teams but it was Spraire Lads who were the stronger team and deserved there 1-0 win. The boys were totally delighted as this was the first major trophy this group of boys had won.
Spraire Lads are now looking forward to the next tournament where they look to win again.Spraire Lads Under 10s are still looking for players to join the squad for next season.
